How You Can Help

John Paul Secondary School is a relatively new enterprise and as such the needs are great. There are still many major structural projects that are needed to develop the campus to its full potential. At the same time, as attendance and the range of classes grows, there is a need to employ more teachers, augment the library, provide more desks and supplies, expand the Science Center and increase the number of beds for the boarding facility. There are many opportunities and many ways in which you can become an active supporter. You can choose your level of involvement and support.

If you are able to make a substantial donation you might find funding one of the projects listed on our development page to be a particularly rewarding experience. As a major donor, some of these projects provide naming opportunities for memorial or dedication purposes. If you have an interest in and would like to discuss this type of gift we can be reached at: birdwatcher@earthlink.net. Of course if you have no particular project but would like to offer substantial help on a regular basis we would love to work with you – deciding together how to put your donation to work in the areas where it can have the maximum impact.  We are committed to keeping you informed of the benefits and results of your investment in the school and updating you on the status of any project you may sponsor. If a donor wishes it is usually possible to arrange trips to see the work of the school and the result of your project – there is no better feedback than to see it for yourself.

Of course not all sponsors can be major donors. Every donation no matter the size is gratefully acknowledged and appreciated. No donation is too small; your dollar goes far in Uganda. And for those who may not be able to donate financially at this time, please support us with your prayers.

Besides the projects listed in the development plan there are some special ways donors can help. John Paul Secondary School is a private Catholic school. Students must pay fees and their account must be current at the end of the school year or they cannot partake in the examination process that allows them to pass to the next class or graduate. These fees, while seemingly quite modest, are very challenging for most Ugandans. A popular means of support is to Sponsor a Student or a teacher for a year.

  • Sponsor a Day Student (includes daily lunch)
$100 / year
  • Sponsor a Boarding Student (includes three meals a day)
$200 / year
  • Sponsor a teacher
$1500 / year

Come to Uganda!! It is an exciting, beautiful country filled with good-hearted joyful people. If you experience it, you will find God leading you to do something special and very gratifying.
